1- Firefox Browser 

I know you may already use it, this is great browser made for Internet Marketers. I put this on #1 for its great plugins. Most of the Time I use Following Plugins: 

• SearchStatus SEO Plugin- Great plugin for SEO guys. Shows all stats you need about any website you are browsing right now.
• DownloaderVideo – Using this you can download your favorite videos to your computer.
• ScrapBook – Save any website page to your computer for offline use, with everything intact.
• FireBug – Great plugin for website developers. It is just the awesome plugin.

2- VLC Media Player

Play every format of MP3, MP4, DVD format. VLC Player can play any audio, video, or DVD without asking for another CODEC to install.

This media player is Lightweight, Fast and Great when it comes to play any media on your computer. I just hate it is Cap like ICON

3- Free Download Manager – FDM 

Sometime we have many files to download to our computer. Thing is it is hard to manage and download all small files one by one. It is just boring and time consuming. So I use this tool. You can put every file to be downloaded in it and it simply keep downloading every file one by one.

I suggest you download LITE version as it is light-weight and faster and does the job.

4- CC Cleaner – SpeedUp Your PC 

This is little tool i install at every computer I use, it does help me tune-up the PC, Windows, Vista garbage. I suggest you get this tool and cleanup your computer and see the difference in speed.

It also help you manage which program run on start-up so your computer loads fast.

5- Foxit Reader – Lightweight PDF Reader 

I have used Adobe PDF Reader for years but just few months ago I came across this PDF Readers and I love it. This lightweight and very fast when it comes to open new PDF files and read them.

I simply love it. And suggest you get it to save your time when it comes to handle and view PDF Files.

6- OpenOffice – Create Free PDF 

This is simply the free alternative to Microsoft Office. But best thing I like about it is that you can simply create PDF files from Word Docs.

You just click on FILE MENU, and click SAVE AS PDF..and You have your document in PDF format.

7- Live Writer – Free from Microsoft

I am using this right now to write this post. This is one of the ONLY best FREE product from Microsoft. You set your wordpress blogs account in it and you never have to login again to your wordpress blog.

This is just the ONLY best desktop blogging tool this time and I love it. It has many great features, and also easy to use as the interface is just like any other MS product, so if you have ever used MS Office, you will find it easy to use.

It is very big news for us who were unable to use Paypal and Clickbank due to non-availability of both in our countries. And i tell you that there were many Online Marketers like us whose businesses were being affected badly due to this. Business Loss was in term of lost sales and lost affiliates commissions and less affiliates (who can promote our products).

Do you remember last time i wrote about a virus. Which disabled my Task Manager, then Folder option from the tool menu. Well that was solved by using a tip, I have already posted in the blog.

Today, i came across a new problem and after many hours of research i got the solution. So I am going to share here, may this help to save someone time in the same situation.

Problem: Registry edit is disabled by Your Computer Administrator! Even i was logged in as an Admin. And i have never disabled it. So it was the same problem related to that Trojan.

Solution: Well You have to go to this website run by Security Big Guy. Here is direct link to that page (Website of Symantec Security Co)

Download the file to the desktop,file size is 610Bytes! and after downloading Right Click and select Install.

Lol when you will click Install, nothing will happen! But fact is within seconds it has solved the problem in the background.

PS. There is another tool with the same functionalities called w.blogger. Both are free to use. Both are windows based desktop softwares to assist you in blogging. I have tried both, but BlogDesk was easy to setup and easy to bring into working conditions, whereas w.blogger was a bit technical setup. So my good experience and recommendation is BlogDesk.

It is really great tool with full customization and support. You can add Search Buttons of your choice. Like I recently have installed Overture Suggestion Keyword Tool Search Button. Now after writing main keyword in main search box of the toolbar, just click the OTK button and wow, it is fetching results from Overture.

Another feature I liked much is the capability to transfer any opened page to gmail a/c, or blogger a/c. Amazingly you can bookmark a webpage and can access your bookmarks from anywhere, i mean from any computer!

If you not already updated your toolbar i suggest you do this now. It is real time saver when online.

Another fact was that my Anti-Virus was not updated (why i do not know!), that is gate was opened already to let the viruses into computer. So when i got back the USB drive with no data from my friend in it but a folder with name NEW FOLDER. When i clicked the folder, folder was empty but clicking that folder took me to My Document Folder. This was the sign of the virus, i have already faced in the past.

Next logical step was to update the Anti-Virus and Scan the whole computer to kill the nasty viruses. But it was not going to happen easily. To make the long story short, i managed to Restore my computer to the earlier stage. And then updated the Anti Virus and scanned the computer, found many viruses and DELETED all.

But problem was still there, i could not find the many important folders in my computer, little investigation proved that folders are set to Hidden Folders, and to select the option to show the Hidden Files from Tool Menu was not available.

Yes Folder Option in Tool Menu, and in Control Panel was not showing! Shhh, my Anti Virus, Firewall, Spyware and all other security guards were not able to locate the problem or fix it. Then at last one of my Techie friend came to my computer room and solved the whole issue, yeah in a minute and free of cost

Here is how he did this. From Start Menu click RUN, and then write this gpedit.msc and click OK! Next click User Configuration and then Administrative Templates then Windows Component then Windows Explorer. Now the third option is there – Remove the Folder Option menu item from Tools Menu. Right Click this option and click Properties and then DISABLE this. Wow it is done! let me write the whole runway in simple style

Start > Run > gpedit.msc > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Component > Windows Explorer

Now right click at third option called Remove Folder Option > properties > Disable!

Note: Windows Xp with SP2 is running at my pc. And All above was possible with admin access to the computer.

I am using Filezilla now and it is awesome when it comes to FTP tasks. So download it and use it as it is BEST free FTP software which is also OPEN SOURCE and constantly being updated by the great programmers!

Yes this is fact what i have written in the subject line.

SmartFtp was suggested by a friend of mine as a good ftp client online. I tried it a lot. it worked fine for me in many situations but failed at many other tasks. It was impossible for me to upload a big script to my server using this crap client. It never completed the upload. So i started to research for other ftp client which can upload big files, many files at a time at maximum speed.

Till now, i have tried many other ftp clients, but for now FTP Commander is working best. [Note: as per above update i recommend Filezilla!] Yeah it is FREEWARE, it is speedy uploader, and it is able to upload big folder with so many files without any problem. Thats it. Maybe it help you in difficult situation!

Update: Dec 1, 2007 As FTP commander guys has stopped offering free version. My recommendation goes to OPEN SOURCE free and Best FTP client Filezilla
