Objective: To understand the real meanings of Quran , The Final Book of God using the available tools, IT assisted as well as other available techniques and works done by people on Quran.
And do not follow what you have no knowledge of.
Truly, the hearing, the sight and the heart – all will be questioned of this. [Al Quran, 17:36]
As they say: When it comes to religion, you must… first study it, then practice it and then preach it(if you find it helpful for you and other) to others.
As a Muslim myself I think we mostly have not studied ‘The Book‘ we think it is duty of scohlars are paid to do this job. This is not good attitude and this results into harsh realities of Sects, Hate and other evils to Muslims and non-Muslims as anyone can misguide any other person saying that Allah(Almighty God) said this and ordered this…
If we study Quran and understand its meanings well we can really lead a good life, and can present the Correct picture of religion to the ones who do not believe on religion (They are correct as they are asked to accepted corrupted religion!).
In its true sense religion was what some great minds call Charter of Compassion, that desire for others what you desire for yourself and that do not fear of any god but The Creator of this Universe.
If you are Muslim or someone who believes on any religion, my friend let’s promise to study our religion, let’s go back to books. Let’s find ourself that what is told to us is correct or ….
Being a Muslim, I have big task ahead that is to study Quran, and try my best to study it, understand it and follow it for the betterment of myself and world around me.
If you would like to accept this challenge too, I would be sharing more and more tools and tips I find helpful in this project. Check out following tools you can use to help you study Quran.
1. Free Quran Study Computer Software
I have tried few Quran softwares in the Past, but this one is the best so far, I use it everyday and recommend to anybody interested to study Quran. It is called Zekr or Zekr Project.
You can install it on any pc by installing Java into that. I use it on both Linux and Windows computers and it works flawlessly.
Good things I like about this software are:
- You can load as many translations in different languauges as you like. I have 3 English, and 3 Urdu translations loaded into this. This help me compare the meanings derived by different scholars
- You can search QURAN text with root words in Arabic. That is ONE of the best features students of Quran would love. Like if you want to get references to every Verse which is about “Satan” you can simply search that word and you get all verses at one page, with their text and nubmers. Very great to study distinct subjects of Quran by studying all verses at one place to get the detailed picture of that event or matter.
- Also you can bookmark your study referenece, verses and Chapters (Surahs) so you can come back to that reference bookmark anytime you like to.
- Much more… Check out here: http://Zekr.org
Quran Study Tips:
1. You know every thing said in Quran can be referenced in some way. What i have come to know is that there are many ways to quote reference to some verse in the Quran…. but best one and easist one is: Surah/Verse yes first you quote Surah Number & then you quote verse number and you are done.
For example for a verse which is in Surah# 34 and it is verse #4 you can easily quote this in this format: 34:4 or 34-4 or 34/4 (surah/verse)
2. It is all LINKED: When trying to get the real meanings of some verse, do not worry, do not be panic.. do not open some other book for explanation… just do this… read few verses before it and few verses after it..and you will get the real picture. You will get the whole context. You just need to read whole subject and all related verses in one row. Do not try to derive conclusions from incomplete sentences or as stand-alone statements. It is all linked. Everything in Quran is linked. So take note of this always to get the correct context of that topic.
I will add more finding here for Quran Research & Study students. Thanks for your time,
